Peter's expertise has made him synonymous with foraging in New Zealand, inspiring many through his discoveries and deep knowledge of nature's pantry.

Peter sources wild produce for top restaurants, including Amisfield, and shares his knowledge through workshops and social media, celebrating nature's bounty and encouraging sustainable living. His extensive experience includes working as a fisheries observer, spending over 1300 days on commercial vessels, and working for the Department of Conservation on various projects, including setting up a national database on the Australasian bittern. He has conducted detailed banding and population studies on wading birds and recorded godwit migration.

Currently, Peter is developing a national wild-foods database and photographic guide, encapsulating his diverse interests through his business, "Wild Capture." Passionate about the natural resources in the Canterbury Region, Peter continues to inspire others to explore and appreciate New Zealand's ecological and culinary richness.
